Cando is looking for individuals who are experienced working as Railcar Repair Mechanics for our Central Manitoba Railway Shop located in Winnipeg, MB.
Railcar Repair Mechanics provide safe and effective railcar inspection, repair, and maintenance.
Providing mentorship to Mechanic Helpers the successful candidate will be a team player who operates in a safety conscience manner while performing various types of freight and railcar repairs. Mechanics will be responsible for ensuring railcar and freight car equipment meets standards for the loading and transportation of product on the rail network.
Top candidates will possess a working knowledge of freight car repair and rail damage repair and have a working knowledge of AAR rules and practices. A background in steel fabrication, strong welding skills, and railway experience is an asset.
This is a full-time position with hourly wage dependent upon qualifications and proven ability. Benefits include our Employee Group Benefits plan and eligibility to participate in our Employee Ownership Program.
