Description

The Engineering department of Cando Rail Services Ltd. provides contract rail track construction and maintenance services throughout Western Canada.
Reporting to the VP of Engineering and Track Services, the Manager is responsible for the bidding, obtaining, and maintaining of long term and project contracts, the departments capital and operating budgets, the securing and alignment of resources and people to deliver services, and overall customer relations.
The successful candidate will be a leader who manages profit and loss and conducts the planning of the department. The Managers key focuses are maintaining profitability, promoting and enforcing Candos Safety Program and Policies, mentoring and developing the Engineering team, maintaining customer relationships and maintaining profitability.
Top candidates must have a minimum five (5) years experience in a progressive leadership position in the construction industry and a minimum of three (3) years experience working with financial information, preparing budgets, and bid and/or tender documents. A background in engineering, design, and construction with the ability to read and interpret blueprints is a must. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of standard business practices in the areas of human resources, contract administration, and financial management, and an understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
This is a full time salaried position based out of Brandon, MB, requiring travel throughout Western Canada. Salary is dependent on qualifications and proven ability. Benefits include our Employee Group Benefits plan and eligibility to participate in our Employee Ownership Program.
