Valley Dance Association is seeking a dance instructor with strong ballet training for the upcoming 2017-18 season. We are a small non-profit community organization of approximately 50 dancers aged 3 -18, located in Fort QuAppelle, SK. Valley Dance has been in existence for 43 years offering instruction in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and musical theatre. Classes begin in September and end in early May, and are held on weekday evenings. We historically attend 3 competitions a dance year, hold an annual recital, and occasionally perform at small community events.
The ideal applicant should be trained in the RAD syllabus or CDTA at the Intermediate to Advanced level and certified to teach beginner to senior ballet classes and beginner pointe. Ability to test students in CDTA or RDA would be a definite asset. The successful candidate would work with an executive, and must communicate well with other instructors, students, parents, and be dedicated to the promotion of the club and the well being of our students. Potential teachers will be required to have a voluntary criminal record check. This is a contract position. Competitive wages and mileage will be offered for successful applicants with appropriate experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will work with another instructor and be supported by an executive parent board.
