Description

Edcentre.ca (Masinahikana Online School) offers flexible distance learning opportunities that lead to high school completion for Northern Saskatchewan residents.  Students are enrolled on a continuous basis throughout the school year.   Service is extended to other northern school divisions and adults are served through a partnership with Northlands College.

Based in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, this leadership position involves working with a team of four other distance educators along with an office support position.  Along with general supervisory and administrative duties, the Online Principal also teaches online classes and manages related online supports such as the learning management system and a web conference server.  Position to commence January 2018.

Desirable qualities for this position include:    

    -    familiarity and experience working with Northern Saskatchewan communities
    -    M. Ed in Distance Learning
    -    experience teaching and developing online courses
    -    experience coordinating and implementing distributed learning and online learning resources
    -    fluid use of a variety of online tools commonly used in online learning environments
    -    background with Moodle LMS classrooms and/or Moodle server instances
    -    experience managing/administering LMS applications

The successful candidate must be eligible for Saskatchewan teaching certification (www.sptrb.ca). Salary is according to the provincial salary grid (www.stf.sk.ca) plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may be available.
