Sun West School Division invites applications for a 0.50 F.T.E. Temporary Student Support (Special Education) Teacher at the Sun West Distance Learning Centre, Kenaston, SK, starting August 28, 2017 and ending April 30, 2018.

At the Sun West Distance Learning Centre, we are committed to providing students with a quality online educational experience; an integral part of that being meaningful human interactions. As an online instructor, you will work almost exclusively with students in an asynchronous online environment and will in most cases, be the primary point of contact for our learners.  We are looking to recruit teachers who seek to understand the challenges of distance education and strive to create real connections with our learners, bridging the distance between them.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
excellent verbal and written communication skills
strong time management and organizational abilities
flexibility with the capacity to problem solve
strengths in collegiality and collaboration
the ability to implement creative and innovative pedagogical practices; and
self-motivation

Experience with technologies such as Moodle, PowerSchool, and online communication software would be considered an asset.
