Description

Meridian Law Group, is a progressive law firm with a friendly and professional atmosphere.  We operate a paperless, technology-oriented practice with a focus on providing superior client service.  

Our Lloydminster office is currently seeking a permanent part time Legal Assistant position.  The hours for this position will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The Legal Assistant will perform primarily criminal, civil and estate law support.  This position has many facets including substantial client interaction, managing client paper and electronic files, ongoing correspondence with clients, preparation of legal documents for lawyers review, and assistance with legal aid billing.

The successful candidate will be professional, outgoing, motivated with excellent interpersonal skills.  The successful candidate will be highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities:
Liaising with clients based on lawyers instructions
Drafting, editing and proofreading routine correspondence, letters and other related documents
Maintaining and organizing client contacts, physical and electronic files and lawyers calendar
Conducting corporate and title searches
Enter time and expenses into accounting software
Prioritizing workflow to ensure completion of accurate work within established timelines
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:
Previous legal office experience is preferred
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Familiarity with PC Law software is an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Superb accuracy, attention to detail and time management skills
Self-starter who is able to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure both independently and in a team setting
Responsible, dependable and consistent
Takes pride and ownership in the finished work product
