Description

The Science Experience Coordinator follows the Saskatchewan Science Centre mandate to ignite scientific curiosity and innovation through interactive, dynamic and engaging opportunities.  The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day visitor experience, including all exhibit floor programs, stage shows, and demonstrations. This is a highly creative, interactive, energetic and fulfilling position.

Coordinating all public programs and activities, including:
- stage shows and demonstrations, public engagement with exhibits, weekend activities, special events, birthday parties
Supervises staff on the exhibit floor to ensure program quality and that staff interact professionally with visitors through science interpretation and quality customer service.
Training and evaluating staff in the presentation of exhibit floor programs and activities, and ensures that staff is trained in all work-related safety procedures.
Preparing staff schedules and verifying time sheets for payroll.
Regularly monitor exhibit quality and makes a needs assessment for required maintenance
Purchasing of supplies for exhibit floor programs and activities.
Researching, developing and evaluating new programs and activities. Building partnership with organizations.
Other tasks that may be assigned related to the operations of the Science Centre.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Completed post secondary education, in science, education, interpretation or similar field.
3-5 years experience in a supervisory role with a strong history in leadership. Able to supervise 10 to 20 people.
Experience teaching or instructing a variety of age levels and providing training opportunities.
Curiosity and interest in science.
A positive attitude with a high level of customer relations skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
A valid drivers license.
Energetic with the ability to think creatively and take initiative
