North West Friendship Centre is looking for a bookkeeper with a solid understanding of accounting principles to join our team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum grade XII & min. 3 years experience in related field
- Workable knowledge of funding & program agencies accessible to aboriginal people
- Possess extensive knowledge in Quick Books accounting
- Possess certificated or diploma in accounting field
- Good communication skills and ability to analyze is essential
Duties (Not limited to):
- Research & prepare budget proposals for permanent programs
- Ensure programs & administered according to policies set by funding agencies
- Complete ROE's as required
- Complete T-4 Summaries & T4s after year end
- Prepare books for auditor
- Prepare GST reports for Revenue Canada
- Prepare budget statements & cheque disbursements for all programs for Board of Directors regular meetings
- Establish efficient filing system for employer
- Consult with Executive Director any programming & administration of activities within Centre
- Maintain any daily journal & stats
- Accounts payable/accounts receivable
- Assist clients with completion of forms for UIC, Canada Pension, Old Age Pension & income tax forms
- Sign as Commissioner of Oaths for clients with legal documents
Individual will work 35 hour week. Salary dependent on experience. Position open until suitable candidate found.
