Description

This position is out of Unity & provides coverage at Plover Lake, & Carruthers where required. The responsibilities include: environmental & safety monitoring at our landfill site, unloading trucks, operating centrifuges, plant maintenance & administrative duties as required.

Accountabilities
Responsible for the landfill environmental & safety monitoring
Address customer needs & communications, after-hours calls may be required
Look after proper preventative maintenance on equipment
Day to day operations will include unloading trucks, running centrifuge equipment, & plant maintenance work
Conduct administrative duties such as booking in loads, waste profiles for customers, data entry, & communicating information where required
Attend safety meetings, identify safety concerns to supervisor & report all incidents
Provide guidance, scheduling, & direction to contracted or less experienced operators
Maintain safe & clean equipment & general work area
Ensure that required documentation is legible, accurate & completed on a timely basis
Train on unfamiliar processes & equipment, within established guidelines, as required
Acquire & maintain adequate certification as required
Perform emergency operations activities as needed
Perform mechanical &/or equipment maintenance as required &/or assigned

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Previous experience with oilfield is an asset
Mechanical ability & general knowledge of equipment maintenance is an asset
Ability to communicate thoughts & ideas effectively both written & verbally
Experience working with Microsoft Office & other computer systems (e.g. SAP would be considered an asset but not required)
Ability to perform heavy lifting
Strong team player with ability to work independently
Willing to work flexible hours & overtime
Open to working in various weather conditions
Must be entitled to work in Canada
50% of the role will be in Unity, 50% between Carruthers & Plover Lake
