Description

Small non-profit association seeking a part-time bookkeeper two days per month, plus additional time periodically for project work.

Responsibilities will involve completing full accounting cycle, including:
    All journal entries
    Payables
    Receivables
    Payroll
    Bank Deposits
Government remittances (Source Deductions, Quarterly GST)
    Bank Reconciliations
    Retail Merchant Account Reconciliations
Generating monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statements for management reports

Examples of project work may include such things as transferring to a different accounting software, cleaning up historical transactions, and interfacing with the associations website.

The books are for the most part are up-to-date.  The reason we require someone to join our team is simply that the number of journal entries has grown significantly over the past several years and we need a specialist to address them.

To start we require someone to work on-site while becoming familiar with our system, but there will be flexibility to work off-site once knowledge transfer is complete.

This position would be ideally suited for a stay-at-home mother or someone recently retired from a full-time bookkeeping position who wants to keep their hand in the game, or an accounting student close to graduation.
