Description

Chief Kahkewistahaw Community School is situated on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation located north of Broadview, SK.  The school has an enrollment of over 200 students a year, 18 teachers and 14 support staff. We are looking for a Principal who believes they can make a difference in the lives of our children. We want a Principal with strong leadership and management skills.

Commitment to supporting the interests of the education board;
Recent record of teaching excellence and leadership;
Strong advocacy for students with special needs;
Commitment to the concept of a safe school;
Ability to motivate staff and be an advocate for staff development based on school needs;
Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development;
Ability to establish and maintain a positive, cooperative, caring environment in a school;
Ability to implement and maintain an environment that supports positive student behavior. Effective problem-solving, conflict management and mediation skills in relation to all members of the school community;
Flexibility, enthusiasm, accessibility, forthrightness, openness and honesty;
Respect for children and others and generate respect in return;
Good judgment in assessing the strengths and needs of a schools organization and operation.
Skills
Strong organizational and management skills, including financial planning and control;
Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills;  
Skills in establishing and maintaining a close working relationship with all members of the community school;
Demonstrate skills in dealing with crisis situations;
