Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to focus on public health programs providing nursing services and health education for maternal child health programs, immunization clinics for infants, children, school children, adults and mandatory communicable disease follow-up while working within an interdisciplinary context.  

Position:    COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE
Type:        PERMANENT FULL TIME - Six( 6) month probationary period.
Salary:    Depending on qualifications and experience.

SUMMARY: Community Health Nurse, as a Registered Nurse, provides health promotion and illness and injury prevention programming.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Must possess an undergraduate degree in nursing or a Diploma in Nursing with a Community Health Certificate from an accredited post secondary institution complimented by at least two years experience in health care at the First Nations level.
-Alternatively, the Individual must possess a Nursing Diploma from an accredited post secondary institution complimented by a minimum of one year experience in health care at the First Nation level.
-Strong professional development skills to promote teamwork, unity and harmony with staff and membership.
-A valid Driver License
-the ability to speak/understand the Cree language is an asset. The Registered Nurse must be in good standing with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses' Association.
