Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, a Saskatchewan-grown industry-leading steel fabricator with a track record of more than 50 years of customer satisfaction to recruit for a General Manager  Manufacturing.

The General Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of our clients' manufacturing operations including QC, HSE, daily manufacturing work flow and workforce performance and planning. Additionally the General Manager will be accountable for meeting the overall performance objectives of the organization, including revenue growth, customer satisfaction and operational improvements.

The Role:

Manage and direct all aspects of Plant Operations, Sales, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality and Administration
Consult with the Foreman and Shop Supervisors regarding labor forecasts, manufacturing schedules and inventory levels
Recommend new approaches to manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing methodologies
Lead all HSE initiatives
Oversee procurement activities and direct the negotiation of major procurement contracts
Work in conjunction with the Sales Manager to identifying and developing new business opportunities

The Ideal Candidate:

A minimum of 5 years of management experience within a manufacturing/line-production environment. Steel industry experience is considered a strong asset
Engineering or related technical or trade background
Strong communicator with an open and hands on leadership philosophy
Entrepreneurial and innovative mind-set with a proven ability to develop and implement new business strategies
