Overview:
The Research Officer will provide survey design, statistical analysis, data interpretation, report and manuscript writing throughout the initiative. The Research Officer will be involved in all epidemiological aspects of the survey cycle including literature review, selecting appropriate designs, indicator development, data gathering, data analysis and interpretation, as well as knowledge translation. The Research Officer must be able to conduct multiple tasks, meet timelines, and will be required to work both independently and as a member of a highly educated team. The Research Officer will report to the Project Manager and work collaboratively with the SAYCW Steering Committee, Working Groups, and school and community stakeholders, including First Nations and Mtis authorities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in project design, goal setting, selection and development of SAYCW survey procedures, in collaboration with the Working Group.
Develops, conducts, analyzes, and interprets SAYCW surveys, in collaboration with the Working Group.
Performs proper statistical analyses on collected data (descriptive analyses, logistic regression, etc.), and writes reports and manuscripts for and in collaboration with SAYCW Steering Committee, Working Groups, as well as partners and stakeholders.
Coordinates survey administration for SAYCW survey cycles.
Disseminates and distributes results of SAYCW analytic work and recommendations through internal and external presentations, reports and manuscripts.
Documents the development and implementation processes of SAYCW survey cycles.
Assesses and synthesizes literature in the field of study.
Participates on SAYCW Working Groups/Committees as required.
Maintains confidentiality of all information collected.
