Our client, dedicated to providing support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, is seeking an Executive Director to join their team.
Position
Under the direction and approval of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for implementing the directions and executing the policy and funding decisions of the Board of Directors, and for providing vision and strategy for the future of the organization in achieving its mission, goals, and objectives.
Responsibilities
Supervise the recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff to ensure all operations and activities are being properly administered and executed.
Regularly recommend priorities, strategy, and program plans to the Board for approval.
Develop key goals and objectives for all staff, consistent with the policy manual, and oversees their implementation.
Conduct annual performance review of the managers and ensure annual performance reviews are conducted with all staff.
Review and execute the annual budget that supports the operations of the organization.
Keep the Board Chair and Board members informed and current on activities, funding status, and any significant changes therein.
Maintain and continuously develop a well-integrated network of contacts with individuals and organizations, which enhance the organizations ability to identify and encourage partnerships.
Skills and Qualifications
3-5 years experience working with a Governance Board
Background in developing budgets, policies, strategic planning
Leading a team of 35 staff who support individuals with intellectual challenges
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
Understand the provincial milieu and exhibit political savvy
Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities
