QUALIFICATIONS:
        
Have excellent people skills and work well in crises
Must possess good common sense
Must be flexible, reliable and willing to learn
Must pass YWCA security screening
Must be able to lift heavy items/perform heavy cleaning

HOURS OF WORK:        Casual/Shiftwork

RENUMERATION:
                
       Starting                  1 year             2 years            3 years             4 years              5 years
          $19.50              $20.00              $20.50             $20.80              $21.20               $21.50

OBJECTIVE:    To work with the clients of the YWCA Central Avenue Shelter to provide guidance and support to improve their quality of life.  To maintain a clean and secure facility and to assist the residents when necessary.


Duties & Responsibilities:

-    Support and guide the residents, teaching them responsibility as they transition into adulthood/independence.
-    Must be a good role model to the youth/clients.
-    Maintain building security.
-    Ensure that nightly cleaning duties are complete.
-    Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores.
-    Attend staff meetings.
-    Provide support and advocacy to the residents and clients of the YWCA.
-    Provide feedback to Manager regarding clients.
-    Provide feedback to the Manager on major issues and incident reports.
-    Some administrative duties.
-    Attend to crises as they arise during non - office hours.  Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis.
-    Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first.
-    Work unsupervised.
-    Maintain confidentiality.
-    Any other duties as requested.
