What does it mean to be a Logistics Coordinator for IRD?

Working alongside manufacturing and project management staff, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the preparation, coordination, and documentation processes of all shipping and materials handling for domestic, North-American, international, courier and freight shipments.  As a Logistics Coordinator, you will apply your knowledge of regulations to ensure complete documentation in accordance with domestic and international NAFTA requirements such as Certificate of Origin, Export Declaration (Form B13), Dangerous Goods, MSDS/TSCA labelling etc. to continually assess and develop efficient shipping processes across the company.

Skills & Abilities

Proven organizational and analytical skills
Must be adept at providing excellent customer service through telephone and email communications
Knowledge of Customs and Border processing methods and procedures
Ability to foresee and plan for any potential issues regarding the timing, expedition, processing, and delivery of freight and materials on a domestic and international scale
Apply effective problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Thorough understanding of computer systems to maintain and develop effective track and trace databases, and analyse reports to identify process efficiency
Collect and monitor shipping issues (lead time to pack)

Qualifications

Canadian, North-American, and International cross-border freight coordination and management experience required
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Logistics and/or Supply Chain (Shipping) role or relevant experience with a transportation and shipping systems is considered an asset
SCMA Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) and CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designations are considered strong assets for this position

 - Canadian Society of Customs Brokers Certificate
Specific Customs Broker Skills
 - Advise clients on export and import restrictions
 - Advise clients on letters of credit
 - Advise clients on tariff systems
 - Prepare and process import and export documents and other forms on behalf of clients
 - Arrange for bonds to cover duty goods
 - Arrange for payment of duties, taxes, storage and transportation of imported goods
