Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Accountant to be based in our White City, Saskatchewan location.

This position will be responsible for the tracking and calculating of job cost accounting and reporting for a major project(s). Duties may include: Prepares client invoices/billings according to contract terms and requirements. Tracks and calculates operating costs such as labour, materials, overheard, etc. Monitors and maintains project budgets. Produces trend and variance reports and ad-hoc summaries for the project(s). Advises operating department on cost accounting issues.

Providing knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts.
Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting.
Analyzing Over/Under the Selling, General & Administrative Expense (SG&A) accounts.
Analyzing Job Margins, Variance reporting, Client cost reporting, Month-end review, adjustments, accruals, etc.
Ad hoc Reporting requirements as necessary will be required to perform.
Prepares and creates month end journal entries
Setting up and maintaining Job Rate Table(s).
Providing accounting support.
Minimum Requirements
Post-secondary diploma or certification from accredited college or technical/business school.
Advanced Excel skills.
A minimum of 5 years of related and progressively responsible professional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis and financial reporting.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel is required; as well as proficiency with computerized accounting software programs, preferably JD Edwards.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with construction, manufacturing, and/or trucking industries would be a definite asset.
Previous experience preparing financial statements would also be a definite asset.
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledgeable in full cycle accounting
Accounting Designation or working towards CPA
