Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client; a locally owned and operated Equipment Leasing Company to recruit for an experienced and effective Credit and Collections Analyst to join their Saskatoon team.

As a key member of the credit and collections team the Credit and Collections Analysts primary responsibility is assessing credit risk and making credit decisions. This position will also be responsible for collecting balances on past due accounts and initiating further action as required.

The Role:

Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and decisioning credit applications in a timely manner
Credit underwriting will include analyzing credit reports, financial statements, ratios, debt servicing, asset quality, industry risk, and related credit information
Implement credit risk mitigation strategies as needed and ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures
Communicate and explain credit decisions to the sales team and Credit Manager
Make collections calls on overdue accounts and negotiate appropriate payment arrangements
Ensure all transactions are documented and accurately recorded
Gain an understanding of provincial legislations relating to realizing on security

The Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 2 years of success in a lending or credit role complimented by a minimum of 1 year of collections experience
Agricultural lending knowledge or agriculture sector familiarity considered a strong asset  
Basic accounting aptitude complemented by financial statement analysis
Strong attention to detail complemented by sound decision making and critical thinking skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet peak volume periods
