Journeyman Diesel Technician - Heavy Duty or Truck Transport Mechanics (A177)

Heavy Duty Equipment / Truck and Transport Mechanics require very good mechanical skills and should have an aptitude for increasing these skills in order to expand the range of work that they are capable of performing. A positive Im at your service attitude is essential when dealing with customers, since customer satisfaction is vital to the continued existence of our clients business.

Principle Responsibilities:
Perform repair and maintenance work on a wide range of equipment in accordance with schedules assigned by the Service Writer / Service Manager
Recommend additional work to the service advisor with the aim of ensuring that the customer does not experience additional problems shortly after the repair has been performed
Make certain that the work assignment is in accordance with the customers requests and the work order. Ask questions if uncertain
Maintain tools and equipment, follow policies and safety procedures and notify supervisor if any equipment or tools are lost, damaged or in needed
Maintain the cleanliness of the working and rest areas
Maintain cleanliness of and protect customers equipment
Assist in expediting parts orders and ensure accuracy of same
Notify supervisor and/or service advisors if delays are expected
Ask for work if temporarily not able to complete current assignment
Give special attention to repeat repairs, so that the problem is rectified first time
Accurately account for all time and materials used
Perpetuate education and stay abreast of changes in the industry
