Description

Normanview Daycare is looking for a positive and hardworking individual to join our management team as an Assistant Director. We are a well-established center located in the Normanview community, however, we are opening a new Centre in Fall of 2017 within Sacred Heart Community School. The Assistant Director hired for this position will be working predominantly at our new Sacred Heart location. We are incredibly excited for this opportunity, and hope that whoever joins us in this role will share our excitement and dreams for our Centre! You will be working closely with the Executive Director to develop this Centre, and your input will be welcomed for the hiring and setting up processes.

We will be working hard to establish and operate a relaxing, home-like environment for all the children in our care while following the provincial "Play and Exploration" guide. Applicants with some type of Supervisor experience as well as a genuine understanding Play and Exploration approach are preferred. To qualify for this position, the applicant must be certified as an Early Childhood Educator Level 3 with the Ministry of Education.

We will be looking to hire an individual who is fun, creative and caring to continue to shape our center to be one that cares for all the needs of a child. Your role, as the successful applicant, will be to lead our team of Educators. You will be responsible for daily coaching, setting long term Centre goals with the Executive Director, and ensuring that Play and Exploration Curriculum is being used in all areas of our Centre. Some office work may be required, but the bulk of your day will be on the floor, working with the staff.

The children at this Centre will be anywhere from 8 weeks to 5 years of age, so experience working with any of these age groups will be an asset. It is a Monday to Friday, full time position. Some overtime will be expected.
