MEND SK is looking to employ an individual to take on an important role representing MEND and encouraging healthy lifestyles for families. As a Community liaison with our MEND program you will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills and make a valuable difference in the lives of children and their families.
Main Responsibilities:
Required to commit to 12 hours per week for a term of three months with the potential for contract renewal as Community Liaison,
Ensuring MEND material is distributed in the community, handling inquiries, and registrations. Educating community organizations on MEND
Recruitment and retention of families for the MEND programs.
Providing information to families and the community about the MEND programs.
Maintain positive engagement and Communication with families and community partners on behalf of MEND and reminding families of program times and locations, and follow ups (i.e. Facebook, texts).
Reporting to the Regional Program Manager including: updates, numbers of families, incidents, etc.
Other duties as assigned, deemed necessary.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Qualifications:
Have a background in one of the following areas is an asset: community programming, physical activity, nutrition, early childhood education, behavioural health psychology, or health promotion.
Experience in working with children and families
Be able to motivate and facilitate behaviour change in families
Work with diverse populations
Must attend a MEND Training (held in January 2017)
Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal records check (including vulnerable sector) prior to start of employment.
