Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Mill Maintenance Technician is responsible to ensure the overall operation of the mill, the conduct of general maintenance and repairs within the mill.
Responsibilities Include:
Identifying, selecting, and monitoring suppliers, equipment, parts, tools, and shipping services.
Identifying and recording any problems relating to equipment
Following protocols, standards, and regulatory requirements within the feed department.
Reporting quality problems to the Mill Manager and perform final inspections.
Communicating with other Mill Technicians
Completion of the ongoing structural and mechanical maintenance in assigned facilities.
To work with the feed department to diagnose and correct deficiencies
To maintain the preventative maintenance program and records
Maintain an effective pest control program
Maintain a parts inventory sufficient to quickly respond to routine problems
As required attend to emergency call outs.
Attend centrally organized training programs.
Conducting inventory counts
Cleanliness of mill building, yard, vehicles and equipment
Responsible to act safely in performing job duties at all times
Reporting safety concerns to the safety representative and/or Mill Manager.
Participation in the HACCP program
Other duties as required
Requirements:
Mill/mechanical experience is an asset
Ability to work with minimal supervision with attention to detail
Effective time management with a clear focus to attain results
Understanding of hog production an asset
Valid class 5 drivers license
Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
