The Saskatchewan Structural Sciences Centre (SSSC) is an integrated multidisciplinary analytical facility that provides training to graduate students, research staff and undergraduate students. The SSSC provides users with access to more than twenty major state of the art instruments. The Centre serves the University, public sector and private industry researchers in basic sciences and engineering as well as fostering multidisciplinary collaborations in diverse fields, ranging from agriculture, to health sciences and engineering.
Primary Purpose: The primary function of this position is to support researchers in applying X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) methods to address research problems in basic and applied fields. The position involves developing experimental protocols, conducting research projects, instructing and training users in advanced procedures, interpreting data and maintaining instruments in research-ready operating mode. The secondary function is to support other instrumental methods such as SPR, AFM and projects as assigned by the manager. This is a research staff position in the Saskatchewan Structural Sciences Centre (SSSC), the universitys core analytical instrumentation centre that serves researchers from a wide variety of disciplines.
