The R.M. of Langenburg No 181 is accepting applications for the position of Equipment Operator. The municipality is located in East Central Saskatchewan, surrounding the thriving community of Langenburg, in the center of the Potash Mining Industry.
The applicant must be self-motivated and will assist in the maintenance of the road network. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package after the applicable probationary period has been completed.
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
*Grade or plow all roads within the designated area in a safe and timely manner
*Operator must report any unsafe or dangerous road conditions to Division Councillor
*Performance of all daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment and report any necessary repairs to the Reeve or Division Councillor
*Operator must keep work area clean and safe
*Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm, with occasional extended hours during inclement weather or during an emergency
*Other duties as required
The preferred candidate should possess the following qualifications:
*Valid Saskatchewan Class 1A driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
* Strong communication skills
*Must be able to work independently and within a team
*Experience operating a grader and other heavy equipment would be an asset
