CORE FUNCTIONS: To assist and provide support to adults experiencing an intellectual disability. Understands, agrees with, and acts according to principles, values, and mandate of Harvest Community.
DUTIES:
1. To be a role model in the work place.
2. To supervise and work alongside participants performing
activities in the work center, Quality of Life Program and
farm site.
3. To support and assist in any programming as required in
consultation with Program Manager.
4. To support handi-flag production and other light
assembly production taking place in the day program.
5. To support wiping rag operation by cutting, sorting,
weighing, and boxing textiles.
6. To express any concerns regarding Program Participants
to the Program Manager.
7. To communicate effectively with other staff.
8. To attend training seminars or classes as directied.
9. Other related duties as assigned.
Abilities and Skills required:
- Degree in Human Service or Disability Support Worker
Certificate
- Experience with Level III training
- Ability to encourage persons with intellectual disabilities to
participate in activities
- Can patiently demonstrate activities to individuals
- Must have a valid Saskatchewan Driver's License
- Demonstrates a good work ethic and job appreciation
- Current CPR/First Aide and musical ability would be an asset
but not required.
