Description

The George Gordon First Nation is currently seeking applications for the position of 1 year term Receptionist.  The successful candidate will perform a variety of administrative, clerical, reception and research duties to support the George Gordon Administrative Office, while providing administrative support to staff. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide office support services in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the GGFN Administration Office;
Manage and monitor the reception area at all times;
Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages to appropriate staff members;
Greet in a courteous manner and direct the public to appropriate staff member;
Ensure mail is picked up and delivered 2-3 times weekly, ensure proper postage is applied;
Open, date stamp all general correspondents, log in-coming faxes/mail and supply orders;
Update bulletin board, post and remove outdated material;
Assist and book meetings in Council Chambers;
Maintain an adequate inventory of office and coffee supplies;
Respond to public inquiries;
Responsible for lock and unlock of the office, ensure lights, equipment and windows are locked and shut off;
Maintain confidentiality of all records and files;
Performs other related tasks that may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 education with minimum one (1) year related administrative experience with similar tasks and duties as outlined in the job description;
Working knowledge of computer programs such as Email, Microsoft Excel and Word;
Valid class 5 drivers licence;
Knowledge and experience using a database to collect, maintain and update information;
Good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients and customers;
Possess the ability to plan and organize in a self-directed environment.
