Prairie Plant Systems, a leading plant biotechnology company specializing in biopharmaceutical and agricultural products, is seeking a self-driven individual to join the team as a IT Technician in a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Field incoming help requests from end users via help desk support tickets, telephone, in-person and email
Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers
Document all pertinent information on the asset, requester, and nature of problem or issue
Assist with testing software & peripheral devices
Assist with end-user application testing
Prioritize and schedule problem resolutions, escalating problems when required
Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installation of hardware and software
Perform preventative maintenance, including log review, checking and cleaning of workstations, printer and other peripherals
Work with technicians, programmers, and analyst in a team environment to provide an exceptional information technology service
Provide assistance and cross-fill duties for other members of the IT department as required
Qualifications
Post-Secondary education in Information Technology with 3+ years experience within a IT support role
Technical knowledge of office computer equipment, printers and peripherals
Experience with Microsoft Office and Windows support
Strong customer service orientation, analytical problem-solving
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
IT Service Management (ITIL Foundation) knowledge, CIPS Associate IT Professional (AITP) and/or Microsoft certifications would be an asset
