The general purpose of the Clinical Data Specialist is to oversee the data entry process in an electronic medical record. The CDES will provide oversight to a specific set of functions within the BRT6HC EMR Implementation and will be responsible for the following:
* Data collection and entry, quality assurance of chart conversion from paper to digital
* Involvement with medical record conversion strategy, chart reviews, data entry quality and compliance
* Completing monthly stats and reporting as outlined to the EMR Implementation Team
* Review and complete data entry for patient charts as per the chart conversion strategy and to ensure compliance for all charts
* Ensure all reviewed charts exactly meet the conversion requirements by adhering to the chart conversion strategy
* Work with internal staff to obtain incomplete information or correct inaccurate documentation before it is included in the digital charts.
* Work with current staff and departments to process a substantial volume of documents.
* Audit information in documents for accuracy and proactively work to minimize future errors
Qualifications Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing
* Registered Nurse in good standing (or eligible to become registered) with Sask. Registered Nurses Association.
* Preferred 3 5 years experience with Electronic Management Records management
* Must be able to work as an effective team member and to work independently, in a self- motivated manner
* Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in completing monthly stats and reporting
* Must possess Valid drivers license
* Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nation people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations cultures.
* Must provide a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector
