A casual position for an Early Childhood Educator at the YWCA Downtown Childcare Centre is available as soon as possible. This position may be of interest to a university student. The successful applicant will be responsible for the childrens wellbeing as well as the creation and implementation of developmentally appropriate programing.
Responsibilities:
- Providing a safe environment for all children
- Programming for children utilizing the Play and Exploration principles
- Be a team player
- Have a positive attitude
- Punctual and dependable
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- Some Early Childhood Education would be an asset but equivalent education in a related field that provides good understanding of child development will be considered.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- First Aid Certificate
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
