Brandt Industries Ltd. is currently seeking a Technical Writer for their Regina, SK location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Research and understand company product for purpose and functionality.
Prepare documentation and instructional material that is concise and easy to understand.
Proofread, edit, and write a variety of materials resulting in effective integration between the vehicle, environment and message while maintaining brand voice.
Collaborate with production and development teams to ensure project completion to deadline and budget.
Study and analyze the assignment in regards to innovation, product development, potential competition, target group and previously used mediums for the same or similar assignments.
Build an understanding of the assignment through testing and observing when possible.
Study and track the success of launched assignments.
Make adjustments to existing copy as required.
Organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.
Stay current and maintain a library of industry news and reference materials.
Perform administrative duties as assigned.
Stay current on copyright and plagiarism legislation and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
1+ years of professional technical writing experience preferred.
Excellent writing skills (e.g. active voice), including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Experience in Adobe Creative and/or Technical Suite products preferred.
Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
CAD experience is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
