The role of Early Childhood Educator is to provide integrated programming for children with diverse needs and implement the philosophy and goals of Hopes Home. They create an environment that promotes learning, individuality, growth and development while upholding the highest standards for daycare practice.

Skills and Abilities

Children'S Ages
 - 5 years
 - 4 years
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
 - Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate
 - Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree
 - Reggio Emilio Approach to Early Childhood Education Training
Early Childhood Education Skills
 - Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music
 - Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities
 - Prepare progress reports and discuss with parents and other staff members
 - Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
 - Assess the developmental level of children
 - Knowledge of Day Nurseries Act
 - Knowledge of licensing regulations
Additional Skills
 - Maintain day care supplies and equipment
 - Assist in housekeeping duties
 - Assist in maintaining records of children
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
 - Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
 - Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
 - Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
 - Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
 - Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
