BATTLEFORDS INTERVAL HOUSE invites applications for CASUAL CRISIS COUNSELOR
Hours of work required vary and will cover evening, night and weekend shifts when full-time Crisis Counselors are absent due to vacation, time-in-lieu, sickness and/or education.
The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate the following:
- strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- strong organizational skills
- ability and experience working independently and interdependently
- knowledge and understanding of interpersonal violence and other crises women may
experience
- current, valid driver's license
- ability to work shift work covering a 24-hour period
- ability to pass a criminal record check as per provincial government regulations
Duties will include but not limited to the following:
- support counseling
- crisis/distress counseling
- needs assessment and intake
- case management and action planning
- advocacy/referral
- child care intervention
- personal and professional development
