Description

The Role
The Admin Support 2-Museum Technician is responsible for Museum Collections maintenance, exhibition

Specific responsibilities and duties for this position include:
    Coordinate and maintain the LCSCs heritage & art collection.
    Perform curatorial research for artifacts, exhibitions and tours.
    Responsible for the development and installation of exhibitions.
    Support the development of collections management policies and procedures.
    Responsible for the preventative conservation of the collections.
    Develop and lead public and school tours of the galleries.
    Provide helpful and accurate information to visitors and tourists, in person, by phone, and email.
    Provide front desk coverage.
    Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:
    The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
    Post-secondary education including a Certificate, Diploma or Degree in: Museum Studies, History or Material Culture is required.
    Previous experience in a cultural or heritage facility is required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
    Candidates must be proficient in the use of: Microsoft Word and Excel, familiar with collections database software and have strong attention to detail.
    Must be able to work independently, efficiently and accurately and converse with the general public in a clear and concise manner, both in person and over-the-phone.

Offer will be contingent upon receiving a satisfactory criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check prior to employment.
