Description

Level 2 CWB Quality Inspector with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a steel fabrication shop as an inspector.  This position plays a key role in meeting the companys high quality and output objectives, through positive feedback and motivating staff to meet deadlines within budget and 0 defects in job quality.

Required Qualifications:
Journeyperson in welding trade with minimum 10 years working in a structural steel fabrication shop
CWB certified using Flux-core and metal core all positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead
CSA W178.2 Welding Inspector Certification, Levels 1 & 2
Minimum 5 years proven experience as an inspector in a structural steel manufacturing facility
Mastery knowledge and application of Canadian Welding Standards.
Familiarity and understanding of the capabilities of a plasma cutting machine
Safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space
Legally able to work in Canada immediately
Pass all required employment screenings: drug and alcohol tests, criminal background check

Role:
Oversee the welding standards, project specifications and other regulatory qualifications
Provide technical direction to welders while ensuring compliance to welding procedures
Perform welding inspections ensuring customer and regulatory standards are met
Troubleshoot and assist in Quality Assurance Management providing cost-effective solutions
Assist and/or generate quotations for projects
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
