Description

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this position will be responsible for preventative measures as well as promoting health & safety in all locations in order to make the environment a safe and healthy workplace for all staff. It will be responsible for:
Effective planning and organization of prevention in OH&S
Working together with all stakeholders (management, human resources, supervisors, maintenance and production staff) to identify, correct, and control the risk of work accidents and occupational injuries
Evaluate existing safety policies and ensure compliance
Provide effective interventions to achieve accident reduction targets
Interacting with employees and visit production sites for safety auditing
Injury investigation and root cause analysis
Managing RAMS (Risk Assessment Management System) and adding risks associated with all tasks in each location

This position will also be required to coordinate OHS training and meetings of health and safety committees. It will be required to update MSDS, WHMIS and policy documents, develop and support health & safety training in all areas, OH&S management, implementation and/or policy implementation, OH&S procedures, research and legislative requirements.

Requirements
The completion of post-secondary education in a recognized Occupational Health and Safety course or equivalent education; relevant experience may also be considered.
A strong understanding of Health and Safety regulatory requirements and have experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk analysis, audits, and developing training materials.
The incumbent must demonstrate both written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of software (Excel, Word, etc.) required
Travel will be required for this position
