Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Health, the CWW will assist in promoting quality health care to individuals, families and the community using a health model that is community development and holistic in nature.
The CWW will provide outreach assessment, intervention, consultation and counselling services for a broad range of emotional, social, behavioral and mental health problems including alcohol and drug abuse. He/She will collaborate with educators, band staff and parents regarding troubled and at risk children, adults and families. The CWW will also assist our Health Care Team in providing integrated and holistic community health programs.
Qualifications:
A Degree in Social Work and/or a combination of post-secondary education and work experience is required
Additional training in alcohol and drug abuse and other social programming is an asset.
Proven work experience in counselling services
Knowledgeable of aboriginal culture and the community is an asset
Valid Drivers License and reliable vehicle
A Criminal Records Check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Persons check will be required
