As the educational leader in the classroom, the Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting student success. This program is designed to provide training in the operation of heavy equipment, routine maintenance of machinery and practical field operations of excavating, land clearing, grading and road building as well as safe operating techniques specific to each machine. The HEO program concentrates on hands-on skill development with approximately 80% of the program spent in the field and on the machines, and 20% in the classroom. This position is to organize and implement instructional activities which create a learning environment that guides and provides the greatest opportunity for student success.
