Description

PROCESS PLANT CONSTRUCTORS LTD (PPCL) is a subsidiary of Propak Systems Ltd., an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, processing, and heavy oil facilities in operation since 1976. PPCL is currently seeking a Project Cost Controller to provide cost budgeting, forecasting and progress reports & site information for a major SAGD construction project.


Key Responsibilities:
    Provide daily construction progress report
    Providing weekly, bi-weekly and monthly man-hour and cost reports to the Project manager, Construction manager, and Construction Management Team (CMT)
    Tracking and updating construction budgets, change orders, trends, construction progress, and performance
    Preparation and maintenance of manpower loading reports.  
    Monitoring and identifying field construction cost trends throughout the project life cycle
    Daily interaction with the Project Scheduler, Construction Superintendent, Foreman, and Field Engineer, ensuring progress and man hour analysis is accurate
    Other duties as may be required.


Qualifications:
    A minimum of an undergraduate degree in engineering or a business degree majoring in finance or accounting.
    A minimum of 3 years EPC experience in budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of onsite construction project progress reporting.
    Must be familiar with typical industry reporting requirements for both large and small projects.
    Must have experience in a field construction environment
    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
    Experience with earned value calculation and progress and performance curves.  
    Knowledge of Primavera scheduling software would be considered an asset.


The duration of the project is expected to be 6 to 8 months. Pending other projects, future opportunities may be available at the end of the current project.
