Description

Under the supervision of the Health Program Manager, the Prevention Worker is responsible for the following key responsibilities/duties:
    Adhere to the One Arrow First Nation Personnel Policy.
    Work closely with the Chief and Council, Health Program Manager and all front-line staff.
    Introduce Prevention Program to community members and provide continual promotion.
    Facilitate community information workshops.
    Provide information, counselling and support services to families.
    Assist in identifying the need for family support services and resources available.
    Communicate and plan with Child Protection services as required.
    Assist with case plan management; maintain confidential, current, accurate and complete case documentation.
    Review case plans in collaboration with the integrated case management team.
    Maintain statistical data and prepare activity reports required by community and funding agencies.
    Seek additional funding through grants and fundraising activities.
    Develop an annual work plan.
    Participate in training, education, mentoring and other forms of professional development.
    Perform other duties as assigned by the Health Program Manager.

Successful candidates will have the following Qualifications:
    Bachelor of Indian Social Work, BSWCWS and/or training and experience in the Human Services field.
    Ability to speak Cree and understanding of the Cree culture and spirituality.
    Experience working with First Nation communities.
    High standard of confidentiality
    Knowledge of case management, crisis intervention procedures, child protection, child-in-care services and protocols.
    Knowledge of computer software applications.
    Valid Saskatchewan drivers license and reliable vehicle.
    Current Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector check and ACI check (Child abuse registry check).
    Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
