Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the incumbent will provide confidential executive level administrative and technical support to the ED, Council and Council committees within a policy governance framework. Duties will include supporting the President and Executive Director in receiving and responding to correspondence, coordinating meetings in their calendars and coordinating Council meetings. The Executive Assistant plays a key role in orientating new Council members to applicable online systems, expense processes and other resources. He/she performs a variety of advanced word processing tasks using various Microsoft Office applications; maintains electronic records; prepares for Leadership and Council meetings; documents all applicable minutes; coordinates all travel and event plans for ED and Council; and completes special projects as required. The Executive Assistant also provides support to the Legislative and Bylaws Committee, coordinates consultations with stakeholders and submits regulatory and administrative bylaw amendments to government. A minimum of a one-year postsecondary certificate or diploma in administrative functions as well as 7 or more years of experience working in an administrative role with demonstrated advancement of responsibility and accountability over this time. Competencies include strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, initiative and innovation, confidence in using technology and the ability to multitask.
