Description

Our client is currently seeing an Operations Planning Engineer to work within their operations planning group for system control.  
  Qualified candidates must possess an Engineering degree from an Accredited Canadian Engineering program and have experience in natural gas transmission and storage as well as a solid background in understanding of components' purpose in larger mechanical systems, experience managing engineering projects and coordinating or delegating work assignments.
  If English is an additional (not first) language then an English Language Competency score is required and must be clearly stated on your resume.  The minimum score requirements are as follows, must have one of the following options:  TEOFL ibt score of 100 or higher, CELPIP general score of 9 or higher, or a IELTS of 8 or higher.
Candidates must also possess a valid Class 5 drivers license.
This role requires the use of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and SynerGee Gas Hydraulic Modelling.  Relevant experience and years of experience relative to each should be clearly stated on  your resume.
Within this position candidates will be assisting in monitoring our client's transmission system operation through creation of graphs and weekly/monthly reports.  You will also be responsible for the daily creation of short term forecasts for system operation and storage injection or production to assist Gas Control with management of supply/demand.  You will also be involved in the Outage Management Process from initiation of planning activities to execution of tasks; this includes assessing the specific customer and service impacts of individual outages, creating general outage timeslines for field operations to build specific outage plans and creating a detailed operating plan for Gas Control that coordinates with field operations activities for each outage.
