Job Description: The Regional Manager, Health Information Management Services is responsible for ensuring that program goals for Mental Health and Long Term Care are achieved and the delivery of services in those areas is consistent with policies, standards, legal requirements, philosophy and mission of the Sun Country Health Region. This position will ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Health Information Management Services within Sun Country Health Region for Mental Health and Long Term Care.    
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    A baccalaureate degree in Health Information Management or a diploma in a recognized and approved Health Information Management Program and experience in Health Information Management at a supervisory/management level.    
    Current certification of the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) and active member of the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) or in the process of attaining a membership.  
    Minimum of three (3) years experience in Health Information Management and Registration services.  
    Experience in a supervisory role an asset.
    Experience in a unionized environment would be an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Proven knowledge of client information, registration and abstracting systems and related technologies such as Shared Client Index, Personal Health Registry System, etc.
    Proven Information Systems knowledge/experience in the use of computers and software including word processing, spread sheet, database applications, report writer, Internet & e-mail.
    Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
    Proven communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.
    Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical and decision making skills.
