THE POSITION
STC Health & Family Services Inc. is an organization that provides support and advisory services to its seven member First Nations Communities. We seek a motivated individual to provide Environmental Health Officer (EHO) services to the 7 STC Member First Nations. The position is under the general supervision of and directly reporting to the Environmental Health Program Manager (EHPM). The EHO implements and maintains a comprehensive program designed to monitor and report on environmental health conditions amongst member First Nations. The position works with First Nations, the Environmental Health Team, other STC Programs and outside agencies to correct any environmental health conditions that may adversely affect health with the goals of increasing awareness and concern for environmental health conditions amongst member First Nations.
QUALIFICATIONS
The EHO must hold current certification with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors as an Environmental Health Officer/Public Health Inspector;
Completion of a Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in Environmental Health;
Directly applicable experience in Environmental Health programming with knowledge of environmental health principles and environmental health systems in rural locations;
Experience working with First Nations organizations and familiarity with First Nations culture, history and governance preferred;
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on collaborative problem solving;
Demonstrated skills in PC Software Applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access)
Must possess a valid drivers license;
Must provide a current CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check).
