The STC Urban AHS Bus Driver/Program Assistant Position has three functions:
Transporting children to and from the program and to other program activities, maintaining the vehicles in excellent operating condition;
Working alongside the Teacher in offering a play based program; cleaning and preparing the classrooms for daily activities, and developing new materials;
And assisting the Home Visitor in offering a parent support program, and preparing home visiting materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.ECE Orientation required, ECE Certificate preferred;
2.Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License Class 4, S Endorsement required, meet STC's insurance requirements;
3.Safe Food Handling certification; First Aid, CPR and WHIMIS certification;
4.Minimum of one year related experience in both driving a school bus and working with children;
5.Good written and interpersonal communication skills;
6.Experience working with vulnerable populations;
7.Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
8.Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, good problem solver;
9.Dependable and reliable; have good work ethics;
10.Willing to take additional training in early childhood development;
11.Understanding of aboriginal cultures; knowledge of an aboriginal language would be an asset;
12.Must provide a current Canadian Criminal Records Check (CPIC) and a Vulnerable Sector Check if offered an interview.
