Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking an individual to serve as our Draftsperson. Under the direction of the Manager of Engineering, the Draftsperson performs various drafting and plan reproduction duties related to the City's infrastructure operations. The Draftsperson is also responsible to prepare design plan and drawings for various engineering and land related projects; work with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Map 3D including ArcMap, GIS, MS-Office and other software related to Engineering Services; survey the Citys infrastructure and plot from survey notes and prepare layout drawings to scale from rough sketches; operate and properly maintain equipment such as GPS, survey equipment, computers, plotters, printers, scanners and other accessory equipment. If you have the following qualifications, this opportunity will be of interest to you:

-    Diploma in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology (CADD Tech) and/or Civil Engineering Technology OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience in municipal infrastructure (Diploma in Civil Engineering and/or Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology)
-    Minimum of 2 years' experience in a municipal engineering environment
-    In-depth working knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Map 3D and MS-Office, knowledge in ArcMap GIS is an asset
-    Able to accurately use GPS and survey equipment
-    Ability to understand and operate specialized application software, databases and utilities applications
-    Able to understand and interpret survey notes, drawings and technical reports
-    Valid Class 5 driver's license
