Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts, promotes and coordinates regular training as identified in the Jansen site training program;
Contributes to the revisions of relevant policies, procedures and programs;
Provides proper training according to the Site Training Needs Assessment for all employees in operations, safety, and or maintenance functions;
Assures that contractors under the direction of DMC have the appropriate training prior to and while onsite;
Ensures that all training reporting is accurate, complete and distributed as per the Jansen Training Plan;
Where necessary participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries;
Submits training reports required by DMC Mining Services and regulatory agencies;
Assures Jansen Project operates within regulatory requirements and conform to company/site policies;
Where assigned by the HSEC Manager, plans and conducts inspections and safety meetings with crews;
Utilizes safety work procedures as part of the training program;
Where relevant, responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs;
Facilitates the site orientation and site induction process of new employees;
Initiates and conducts practical training;
Verifies competency of training in form of JSOs as per the predetermined competency criteria in the training plan;

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Minimum 7+ years in progressively responsible roles in the mining industry with 5+ years of experience in a training capacity.
Completed Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities approved Train the Trainer course.
Working knowledge of the Occupational Saskatchewan Health and Safety Act and other related regulations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate oral and written with all levels of the organization
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Mine Rescue, Emergency Response and First Aid / certifications an asset
