The Technician provides automotive services that may include, but are not limited to, drivability, suspensions, alignments, steering, heating and air conditioning, basic and ABS brakes, and exhaust systems.
Required Education, Skills, & Experience:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Other certifications or licenses as required by provincial law.
Minimum two (2) years in an automotive repair or service required, four (4) or more years of experience preferred.
WHMIS 1988 & WHMIS 2015 required.
Valid drivers license required.
Advanced computer skills an asset; experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification preferred in one or more of the following areas:
Electrical or Electronic Systems
Brakes
Heating and Air Conditioning
Suspension and Steering
Manual Drive Trains and Axles
Automatic Transmission and Transaxle
Engine Performance
Engine Repair
Working Conditions:
Personally owned tools required.
Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards.
CSA Approved hard-toe shoes required.
Working on concrete floors.
Using physical and manual dexterity.
Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted.
Using equipment consistent with industry standards.
Driving a vehicle, forklift, and maneuvering trailers.
Clean, spacious department that the employee is responsible to maintain.
Operates out of an automotive shop with natural light and adequate ventilation.
