Adecco Saskatoon is currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager on behalf of our client, one of the largest livestock primary producers in Canada.  This permanent full time role will be based in our clients' office in Humboldt, SK.

As the Procurement Manager you will oversee a team of 2-3 procurement coordinators and will be responsible for overseeing of the company's' agricultural ingredient procurement process, strategic negotiation and contract management.

Responsibilities for the Procurement Manager will include, but are not limited to:
-              Building of strategic relationships with key suppliers including producers, brokers and grain companies.
-              Leading efforts to implement processes for sourcing new material and services
-              Develop and implement grain buying strategies
-              Set offer prices and purchasing targets
-              Develop and manage contracting opportunities
-              Ensure an uninterrupted supply of ingredients to all locations

To be successful, the incumbent will ideally possess the follow background:
-              7 years plus procurement experience in a similar role
-              An Agricultural degree or relevant business discipline or a combination of on the job experience
-              Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation would be an asset
-              Thorough understanding of logistics, contract negotiation and contract management
-              Experience in the grain procurement or feed manufacturing industries would be a definite asset as would a solid understanding of prairie agriculture
