Description

Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking 1 individual for the position of Alternative Measures Caseworker. The Caseworker will manage a caseload of files. Promote Integrated Case Management/ work with existing agencies & services to address the individuals underlying causes of criminal activity.
Duties
Assess offenders rehabilitative needs/risk which offender presents to the community.Increase the offenders accountability for his/her actions to the community.
Assess victims needs & willingness to participate in mediation or Family Group Conferencing. Increase victims satisfaction with the way in which their justice-related needs are met through the use of alternative measures.
Facilitate the Diversion process & provide follow up & monitor offenders compliance
To ensure public accountability of the program and for the cases handled, by providing accurate documents
Keep in confidence file information in accordance with the YCJA & the Alternative Measures Policy
Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work/Indian Social Work/Human Justice or equivalent degree or combined experience.
One year of practical experience in the justice system working with youth/adults in conflict.
Knowledge of different counseling techniques and principles of mediation.
Have knowledge of First Nation culture, traditions/customs.
Knowledge of government/community programs/ agencies/facilities related to adults and youth  
Knowledge of Saskatchewan Justice Diversion Program Policy & relevant legislation.
Valid drivers license as well as maintain it throughout employment & reliable vehicle.
